Young Panamanian, thesis student in Marine Biology. Her work has focused on understanding the anthropogenic and natural factors that may affect odontocete populations in the marine-coastal portion of Panama, including shark-dolphin interactions. Her academic interests include ecology and evolution in marine systems, specifically in megafauna and invertebrates, which has led her to be a fellow of national and international programs, including the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute and the marine exploration vessel Ocean Xplorer. She has also succeeded in overlapping her projects under a marine governance approach, highlighting the importance of managing regulations based on scientific evidence, to which she also wants to contribute.
